Urban Beat @ Velocity

The school holidays are the perfect time to explore new hobbies and pick up fresh skills. This June, Velocity@Novena Square has put together a fantastic line of activities to keep the whole family busy, happy, and inspired.

Running from 29 May to 5 July 2026, Urban Beat is bringing a series of hands-on holiday workshops and spending rewards to Velocity@Novena Square, giving families plenty of reasons to head out and make the most of the holidays together.

It’s the ideal opportunity for parents to bond with their children through shared experiences, or even sneak away for some retail therapy, dining, and a little self-care while the kids try something new.

Choose Your Own Adventure: The Workshop Lineup

The Urban Beat workshops feature five activities perfect for kids, teens, parents, and anyone keen to try something different.

All sessions are beginner-level, so there's no pressure and no prior experience needed. Just show up, give it a go, and see what you enjoy!

Believer Music (Parent & child bonding): Introduce your child (ages 8 and up) to the guitar or drums. It’s the perfect excuse to jam out together and make some noise.

Climb Central (Parent & child bonding): Scale new heights as a team! These introductory rock climbing sessions (for ages 8 and up) are a great way to build trust, confidence, and shared memories.

Pickleball Academy (Parent & child bonding): Try out one of the fastest-growing sports with beginner lessons tailored for children aged 7 to 12, as well as joint sessions for parents and kids (ages 8 and up).

Fight Zone: Step into the ring and learn the basics of Muay Thai and self-defence, with sessions split for ages 7-12 and 13-19.

True Yoga: This one’s just for the grown ups. Adults aged 18 and above can take a well-deserved breather and reset with a Pilates, traditional yoga, or hot yoga session.

How to sign up: Spend a min. of $60 (3 same-day combined receipts) to redeem up to 2 workshops at just $10 each.

The best part about Urban Beat is how flexible and stress free it is. Want to create core memories together? Sign up for a parent-child session. Need a break? Drop the kids off at a workshop and treat yourself to a leisurely wander around the mall, a great meal, or a little self-care.

It’s a win-win for the whole family!

Skyline Luge Singapore

Part go-kart, part toboggan, and 100% pure thrill, Skyline Luge Singapore has earned its spot as one of Singapore’s most beloved attractions, and once you try it, you’ll know exactly why.

Take full control of your own luge and zoom down purpose-built tracks loaded with tunnels, sweeping corners, and exhilarating downhill twists.

Then hop on the Skyride chairlift for panoramic views of Sentosa before doing it all over again.

With four incredible tracks to conquer, the adventure never gets old. Jungle Trail is great for family rides, Kupu Kupu Trail is ideal for younger riders easing into the experience, Expedition Trail brings fast turns and tunnels for those craving a little more action, while the 688m Dragon Trail is the ultimate challenge for confident thrill seekers!

Nobody gets left on the sidelines here. The whole family can join in on the action as little ones who haven't quite hit the solo-riding height requirement can ride along with an adult.

Come after dark and you’ll find a whole new vibe. The Night Luge runs every Friday and Saturday, with neon-lit tracks, pumping music, and an electric atmosphere. It’s cooler, wildly atmospheric, and one of Singapore’s best-kept secrets for a fun weekend night out.

This June, there's an extra special treat waiting for you. Skyline Luge has teamed up with local brand The Patch Things for a hands-on personalisation experience.

Spend a minimum of $120 online or at the ticket counters and you'll receive a Luge Legend patch tag to customise with your choice of patches at the booth. A nice little keepsake to remember your epic day.

Catch it across 3 weekends during the June holidays (12-14, 19-21, 26 to 28 June | Fridays to Sundays).

Insider pro tip: Skip the queue and book your tickets online before you head down. It takes all of two minutes, and means you go straight from arrival to adventure. More riding, less waiting!

David Hockney: Bigger and Closer

Step into a larger-than-life art experience with David Hockney: Bigger & Closer (Not Smaller & Further Away), an immersive visual show that puts you right inside the creative mind of one of the most influential artists of our time.

Brought to Singapore in collaboration with Lightroom London, this immersive experience explores how Hockney has spent decades challenging the way people see the world, across painting, photography, drawing, and digital media.

Large-scale projections, layered sound, and dynamic spatial design guide you through his creative process, from early experiments with perspective, to his fearless embrace of colour and new technologies.

The projections are so enveloping that at times we felt like we were standing right beside Hockney, and at others, like we've stepped straight into one of his paintings.

The focus is on how Hockney sees and how scale, proximity, and attention can turn a garden, a road, or a quiet afternoon into something you can't look away from.

Playful and contemplative in equal measure, the show asks you to do something surprisingly simple: slow down, look closer, and remember what it feels like to really notice things.
