Dinosaurs Extinction Us is an extraordinary dinosaur exhibition that combines two world-renowned exhibitions: Dinosaurs of Patagonia and Six Extinctions.
Organised by Science Centre Singapore in collaboration with the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, the exhibition spans 3,000 square metres and features more than 33 rare fossils and 60 life-sized dinosaur models.
Curated by the Museo Paleontológico Egidio Feruglio (MEF), this exhibition takes visitors to Patagonia, one of the world’s richest fossil sites.
You will see 13 amazing dinosaur species, including a full-size replica of the Patagotitan Mayorum. One of the largest dinosaurs to have walked the earth, this giant was 40 metres long and weighed around 70 tonnes (as much as 10 elephants!).
Standing under this enormous dinosaur cast will feel like stepping back to a time when these giants roamed the land.
Created by Gondwana Studios, this exhibition explores the six mass extinctions in Earth’s history.
With more than 30 interactive displays, visitors can see how life on Earth was dramatically changed during these events.
One highlight is “Scotty”, the largest Tyrannosaurus rex fossil ever found.
The final part of the exhibition looks at the sixth extinction that is happening today because of human activity, and encourages visitors to think about how it affects Earth’s biodiversity.
There will also be a section where you can learn about Singapore's own biodiversity challenges. You’ll learn about species like the cream-coloured giant squirrel (Ratufa affinis affinis) and the rufous-collared kingfisher (Actenoides concretus), both now nationally extinct.
It also shows how modern science and new tools are being used to study extinction and to find ways to protect species in the future.
