A new attraction that combines world-class marine education, conservation, and fun for all ages at Resorts World Sentosa

The Singapore Oceanarium officially opens to the public on 24 July 2025, marking the debut of a world-class marine attraction that features over 100,000 marine animals.

Not just an aquarium, the Singapore Oceanarium is a purpose-built ocean institute designed to spark knowledge, love, and action for our seas.

With  22 distinct themed zones to explore, each offering unique insights into different aspects of marine life, guests can expect an immersive journey from shallow coastal waters to the deepest ocean trenches.

Opening Celebrations: A Season of Discovery

To mark its launch, Singapore Oceanarium will host a series of special events from 24 July 2025. Highlights include:

  • Research & Learning Week (25–27 July): Dive into expert talks, workshops, and installations at the Research and Learning Centre, featuring collaborations with institutions like the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC).
  • Living Oceans Exhibition: A showcase of marine biodiversity, featuring specimens from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum and research from the RWS-NUS Living Laboratory partnership.
  • Ties That Bind Photo Gallery: An emotive visual narrative by Singaporean photographers Toh Xing Jie and Michael Aw, highlighting the interconnectedness of ocean life and Singapore’s marine heritage.

These events are just the beginning - guests can also enjoy hands-on workshops, live presentations, and even complimentary giveaways like ice cream and children’s.

A Living Ocean Full of Stories

The Singapore Oceanarium features more than 22 themed zones, each offering unique insights into different aspects of marine life, guests can expect an immersive journey into the wonders of the marine world.

Ocean Wonders 

Discover the hypnotic beauty of ancient sea jellies in one of the world’s largest Kreisel habitats, where light and motion bring evolution to life.

Ancient Waters 

Travel back in time to meet fearsome prehistoric sea creatures and uncover the living fossils that still dwell in our oceans today.

Singapore’s Coast

Explore the rich biodiversity of Singapore’s mangroves, where ingenious coastal species thrive in harmony with shifting tides.

Whale Fall and Seamount

A Whale Fall skeleton and immersive projection show illustrate the remarkable decomposition process of these giant creatures, and how this process creates a rich ecosystem that sustains deep sea life.

Drop of Water

A glowing dome reveals how tiny plankton power the ocean’s life from the very beginning.

Spirit of Exploration

Step onto a recreated ancient ship and trace the paths of early explorers across the seas.

Migrators

Marine creatures like dolphins and glowing fish travel great distances through shifting ocean waters.

Benthos

Colourful reef fish, giant crabs, and moray eels move through rocky sea beds teeming with life.

Life in the Deep

Glowing deep-sea species and preserved creatures highlight survival in the ocean’s darkest places.

Conquering Land

Live and digital displays show how marine life bravely took its first steps onto land.

Shark Seas

Walk through a tunnel where majestic sharks swim overhead in an unforgettable ocean setting.

Powerful visuals of melting ice reveal how rising temperatures are changing the sea.

Hallway of Hope

Real stories of marine protection show how small actions can lead to big changes for the ocean.

launching alongside the Singapore Oceanarium is the Singapore Oceanarium mobile app featuring Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) that enhance the visitor experience.

You can also purchase tickets, participate in volunteer activities, and access exclusive content through the app.

How to get to the Singapore Oceanarium

  • By Sentosa Express: Board from VivoCity Level 3 and alight at Resorts World Station.
  • By Public Bus: Take RWS 8 (stop outside the Forum, Sentosa) or Bus 123 (stop at Resorts World Sentosa).
  • By Intra-Island Bus: Ride Sentosa Bus A and alight at Basement 1, Resorts World Sentosa.
  • By Car: Drive to Resorts World Sentosa and park at Resorts World Basement Car Park, Basement 1.
  • By Taxi: Drop off at Resorts World Sentosa, near the Forum drop-off point, and follow signs to the Oceanarium.
  • On Foot: Walk from VivoCity via the Sentosa Boardwalk in about 15 minutes.
