Tokyo Disney Resort

Tokyo Disneyland

No guide to theme parks in Tokyo would be complete without mentioning the iconic Tokyo Disneyland.

As the first Disney park to open outside the United States, Tokyo Disneyland has been enchanting visitors since 1983.

Step into a world of magic and wonder as you explore its seven themed lands, each offering a unique experience.

Tokyo Disneyland is a classic Disney park with all the rides, character, and magic you would expect.

From the moment we stepped foot in the park until the time we left, we were thoroughly impressed by the atmosphere, the attractions and overall vibe of the place.

Start your adventure in Toontown, the vibrant neighborhood where beloved Disney characters reside.

Visit Mickey and Minnie at their houses, embark on exciting adventures aboard Donald Duck's boat, and immerse yourself in the whimsical world of Disney animation.

Continue your journey through Tomorrowland, where futuristic attractions await. Experience the thrill of Space Mountain, a classic rollercoaster set in outer space.

Fantasyland will transport you to a realm of fairy tales, with Cinderella's Castle as its centerpiece. Adventureland offers a taste of excitement with the Jungle Cruise and other thrilling attractions.

Don't forget to explore World Bazaar's shopping arcade, Critter Country's charming critters, and Westernland's Big Thunder Mountain rollercoaster.

A must-visit attraction is the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. Here, you'll board magical cups that "dance" through scenes from the beloved animated film.

Our other favorites include Monsters, Inc Ride & Go Seek! and Pooh's Hunny Hunt. Each ride is designed with captivating details and fun-filled adventures that will leave you full of delight.

One of the newest additions to the park, Happy Ride with Baymax, is a fun-filled ride that swings you around in unexpected ways.

However, it does have one of the longer wait times in the park. Coupled with the relatively short duration of the ride, it may not be the best choice unless you can skip the lines with Disney Premier Access.

And of course, no visit to Tokyo Disneyland would be complete without experiencing the much-loved classics like It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, and Western River Railroad. These timeless favorites continue to charm and entertain visitors of all ages.

Make sure you catch the parades - they are among the best we've ever seen. Disney Harmony in Colour and the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights offer breathtaking displays of lights, music, and beloved Disney characters. Your children will be absolutely mesmerized!

End the day with a dazzling fireworks show set to a variety of Disney tunes.

Tip: If budget permits, one of the best investments you can make to enhance your experience is purchasing the Disney Premier Access.

It allows you to bypass the lengthy queues and gives you a designated time slot for select attractions and shows, and prime viewing spots for the spectacular parades.

Getting there: if you're travelling by train, get off at Maihama Station on JR (Japan Railway) Keiyo Line / Musashino Line. The Maihama Station is about 15 minutes away from Tokyo Station.
